"It seems as if in the process of growing up we lose the ability to wonder about the world." - Albert Knox
This quote brings up a very interesting and debatable point. It emphasises the fact that as people are growing, their knowledge expands, and they tend to worry more about their own lives rather than wondering and questioning our surroundings. I feel this quote is just just trying to encourage adults to think wider, and actually question things around the world.
People may argue against this view, and it is fair enough as they may just believe it is not important to question things any more when they have set other priorities in life. However, i agree with the philisophical point of view of this quote. The reality from my point of view is that even if we do wonder as adults, it would never be to the same extent as a kid questioning, 'why something looks like that,' or 'why something does that.' This is because as our knowledge is building up, it is definitely making us feel that it is unnecessary to question as much. Therefore, although we may never stop wondering, and may think even as adults, the extent of our thinking is always decreasing, making it relate to Albert Knox's quote of that ability fading away.
Personally, I feel it is very important to wonder, mainly because by thinking and asking questions, you also build your range of knowledge which is what helps us get around in life. So overall, i agree with the quote.

I do not believe that the extent of our 'wondering' decreases. As children we ask ourselves "why do dog's stick their tongues out?", yet as adults we already know why they stick their tongues out, and that is to lose body heat (as dogs dont sweat), but then we then ask ourselves "how does sticking the tongue out lose body heat", "is it faster than sweating?", "what is the process", "what happens within the tongue", "what sort of energy conversions and exchange occurs?" and etc. We tend to dig in the well deeper as to find more water, more knowledge to fill our thirst for answers.
I agree with the whole theorgy that questioning things extends your knowledge however i also think it maes you a better person as you can understand different cultures and peoples perspectives.
However i want to ask you what do you think it is that makes children loose intrest in world questions as they grow up?
